PM will offer Anjali to Maa Durga this Ashtami in Kolkata, receives multiple invitations
A tense situation unfolded in the Multi area under the jurisdiction of Magrahat Police Station in South 24 Parganas after allegations surfaced that the names of several legitimate voters had been removed from the final voter list. The issue triggered widespread anger among local residents, leading to protests on Monday.
According to local sources, the names of 33 voters from Booth Number 89 under the Multi Gram Panchayat were allegedly excluded from the final electoral roll. These names had reportedly remained pending during the SIR verification process, but when the final voter list was published, the residents discovered that the names were missing.
The development sparked outrage in the locality, with angry villagers taking to the streets in protest. Demonstrators set fires on the road and staged a blockade, effectively bringing traffic to a halt and causing a major disruption along the important Dhamua Road. The road remained jammed for a considerable period as the protest intensified. Local residents demanded clarification and immediate corrective action regarding the alleged removal of the voters’ names from the electoral list.
